VirtualTrs was born in the Covid-19 lockdown period of 2020, although the idea was in place long before this.
During the lockdown I spent a lot of time at home with my three children, aged eight, five and one. Using some of the virtual tours included on this website, we toured some of the best sites and museums in the world from the comfort of our own home.
I think it's important that children learn about the world from an early age, which is why this website was put together in a child-friendly fashion, ensuring that everything was easy to find.
With virtual tours gaining popularity around the world, I will continue to update this website with news tours that I discover, with the aim of keeping it free to use for everyone.
If you've seen a tour that you think should be added, please contact me and I'll add the tour to the site.
VirtualTrs has been created to be a free resource to all. As the popularity of the website increases, so do the costs. I aim to keep this resource free for as long as possible, but I may have to resort to advertising eventually. If it comes to this, I'll ensure that any advertisement are child friendly and are related to the topic of museums, zoos or other experiences included within this website.
If you'd like to support VirtualTrs and help keep this resource free for as many people as possible, please consider buying me a coffee. Should the funds received through donations outweigh the costs of the project, almost the entire surplus will be donated to educational charities.
